About Finn

Bio
Finn (She/Her) is a writer based in Atlanta, GA, where much of her inspiration gathers from the mundane of her nature refuge.
Her writing explores where she is growing within herself: constantly evolving, constantly moving, constantly still, and constantly breathing. Much of her work plays with different ways to use language, breath, shape, setting, sound, perspective, and emotion. She constantly envisions herself as a director. In a chair, on the floor, up in the air, checking every angle for new perspectives, lights, shadows, or cries.
Feel free to lie on the floor with her and discover perspectives only you can see. Do not be afraid to cry, to scream, to rage, to breathe, to love.
Some of her favorite poets include: Layli Long Soldier, Jericho Brown, and Kaveh Akbar. Whose collections have inspired her own.
Outside of all things poetry Finn is a fan of romance movies during rainy days, park meditations, and chest-aching laughs with good friends. She frequently is found at coffee shops reading books of poetry while sipping cappuccinos until nightfall.

Praise for Finn
“Finn Kitchen masterfully and skillfully weaves words together to create poetry that sticks with you for days and weeks after you’ve read. Kitchen’s poetry zooms in on moments in life that would be missed without someone taking the time to write about it. In each poem there is a risk, whether it comes from the spacing or breaking of the lines, or the images created themselves. Finn takes you by their hand and walks you through their life, puts a fun pair of glasses on you, and makes you see the beauty and ugliness of it all.”
- Victoria Vega
“She uses each line in their poems meticulously in order to expand upon the unraveling plot. When considering the overall idea of what’s at stake per poem, there is a constant fluctuation. While each poem seemingly builds off of one another in terms of self-growth, a variety of emotions are used to create tension throughout each piece. The evolution of the imagery itself plays a role, which can be compared to a constantly transforming painting”
